Our
"top of the line" bench type mitre machine. The horizontal
cross slide makes it the most universal of all. Ideal for
joiners and small picture frame shops. A problem solver for
every woodworker. Two razor sharp knives are mounted on a
vertical, lever-operated dovetail slide (knife block).Operation
of the hand lever makes a 90º notch (two 45º mitre cuts). After
each 90º notch cut, the knife block is brought forward with
the handwheel (each turn = ¼ ").
As a handwheel
and spiral feed screw advances the knife block forward into
the work, the knives can cut anywhere over the width of the
wood, useful for "V" cuts, birds mouths, glazing
bar joints etc.
This "nibbling" action continues until the wood is almost
cut through. The final cut is made, taking off a fine shaving
ensuring a perfect joint completing the left and right hand
mitre.
